  1. Had the exact same problem and scoured the internet. The only code that was showing up was a code of "981" which didn't work. Thanks for sharing your "986" experience and saving me the call to Comcast.

  2. Hi Derrick, Do you think you could help me with the internet part of the tv? It was programmed to play YouTube, Pandora and other apps now all I get is the license expired on the screen. I have called Comcast 3 times First 2 times they didn't know what I was talking about. Finally the third time I they said I have no signal that says it's smart. Now this was working for a week in the beginning. how could there be no signal. I have tried to look on here to figure out what was wrong and what to do. I have a Samsung smart blue ray player. BTW everything else is working fine. I do not want to pay another $70 for Comcast to comeback because of bad connection problems via the lawnmower twice. Thanks

  3. I cannot thank you enough. I screwed up the initial setup – I selected the A/V option and I didn't even understand what it was asking for! I put off trying to fix the initial setup because I figured I'd be on the phone with Comcast for 30 minutes or more. I was even considering driving over to the Xfinity store and asking for a new controller and starting the process all over again.

You rock! thank you/thank you/thank you!

  4. Thanks so much for sharing Derrick. this video has been very helpful and has saved me a trip to the Xfinity store for a new remote. It appears I programmed 2 remotes to one cable box and I had no idea how to reset the remote.
