The TiVo Bolt aims to redefine what people think of when they think TiVo. Aptly described by the company as a ‘Unified Entertainment System’ rather than a DVR, the Bolt carries on the tradition TiVo’s Roamio boxes championed while folding in some key new features, including 4K UHD streaming apps, a fully automated commercial skipping option, and a “QuickMode” for zipping through long-running content at a faster pace. And that’s just the beginning – you may be surprised to learn the new Bolt is designed to work with Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV.

  1. I don't like the bend in the box at all. There is no way to set your TV on top of it. Sure, Tivo says they need the breathing room for the fan but I'm sure there was another way to deal with this design issue.

  2. The downside I see so far is (1) DVR service is included in most cable company bundles. So taking away the DVR actually raises the price. I decided to stay with (1) DVR from cable company for a year (because it is free) use it in extra room and then use Tivo on Main Room. The too work nice together. Tivo gives first year of subscription for free.

  3. I have an old tivo model, of 2012 more or less, my question is if you have an annoying sound with that product when is working , i mean you watching the tv , and hearing like a "cri cri" or something , is not a big loud but is annoying , is more detectable when the tv sound is low, at night for example..

  4. THE TIVO BOLT IS PURE GARBAGE!!!!! HAD IT FOR 3 WEEKS AND RETURN IT…IT KEPT HAVING CONNECTION LOST EVERY 2 DAYS MY TIVO MINI WOULD NOT PLAY AT ALL!!!! IT WAS MORE CHEAPER TO KEEP MY DVR FROM THE CABLE COMPANY BECASUE I PAID 149 FOR THE TIVO SERVICE FOR THE HOLE YEAR AND 8 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR MY DVR FROM CABLE WHICH ADD UP TO 96 DOLLARS A YEAR…SO I WILL STICK WITH CABLE…MY ADVICE DONT DO IT…

  5. Virginmedia should of been kept but Richard Branson because now they can't make there own software so they go to TiVo take there box and redesign it and change the Ui and then WA daa!

  6. The TiVo HD DVR from DIRECTV costs $199. It should be noted that this receiver is not compatible with all services offered by DIRECTV; TiVo HD DVR users cannot use the DIRECTV whole Home DVR service, 3D or other DIRECTV features.
